Corn Roast at MN State Fair Now Certified

The famous Corn Roast stand at the Minnesota State Fair is now certified kosher by MSP Kosher. Indeed there are kosher fair-goers who have enjoyed roasted corn from the stand over the years, but now they can rest assured that the corn is surely unadulterated (as is the roaster). Sebastian Joe’s Now Offers Vegan Ice Cream

Sebastian Joe’s Ice Cream Cafe now offers vegan ice cream! All but one of their vegan flavors (cookie dough) are certified kosher by MSP Kosher. The kosher vegan flavors are all certified kosher pareve (dairy equipment).

J. Selby’s no longer certified kosher

J. Selby’s has had an incredibly successful run thus far and continues to grow. As a result, there is a greater need to source products to meet demand. Some of those processed products and ingredients that they will begin sourcing are not certified kosher. In conference with J. Selby’s leadership, we felt it was the best decision to conclude their kosher certification. Though there is a chance that we or another kosher certifying agency will work with them in the future, unfortunately, such certification is on hold for now and officially ceases on March 12, 2018. We wish them only good things to come and the best of luck (–and hope we can work together again in the not too distant future…we already miss it).
Bella Nava Moves Kitchens

Bella Nava Creations has moved to a new kitchen and is in the process of obtaining certification from a different agency. We’re thrilled to have helped serve as an incubator for this company on their kosher journey! Mazal tov to Brandie Itman and Bella Nava Creations.
State Fair Gets Another Kosher Stand Thanks to Fresh French Fries

Both Fresh French Fries at the 2017 Minnesota State Fair will be certified Kosher Pareve by MSP Kosher. This is now the second MSP Kosher certified State Fair vendor (Sweet Martha’s Cookie Jar was the first last summer) and is the only Kosher certified french fries vendor of the at least 41 known at the State Fair. In addition, these fries are not only Kosher and Pareve, but Gluten Free and Vegan.

J. Selby’s Opens and Changes the Vegan and Kosher Restaurant Scene

J. Selby’s in St. Paul is now open and changing the game. Indeed, they use plenty of game-changer The Herbivorous Butcher‘s scrumptious products in their kitchen, but this is the first Kosher vegan sit-down option in Minnesota. They’re already receiving much acclaim and if their business booms enough, this could be the first of several locations.

Target Field Expands Kosher Options with Vegan Sausages

The Twins announced at their Media Day today, along with The Herbivorous Butcher, that it would be expanding its offerings at the now aptly titled MSP Kosher Stand. In addition to kosher hot dogs, the stand will offer Sriracha Brats and Italian Sausages–both kosher and both vegan, prepared on a pareve grill plate, separate from the Kosher beef franks. And the press is loving it too (Strib and VegNews)!

Lala’s Bakery is now up and running, bringing authentic Israeli baked pastries to the local Minnesota scene. Bourekas pastries filled with spinach, cheese, mushrooms or potatoes are a favorite among Israelis and Jewish communities around the globe–and now they are baked fresh right here in Minnesota. There isn’t a store front; instead all products can be conveniently ordered over the phone or through email, or on the website.
